Every year in early August, the Sneekweek takes place in Sneek. In addition to the daily sailing races, many festive activities are organized in the city center of Sneek. In most city centers, the number of events is growing to create more liveliness. But how can an event be optimized so that, for example, local businesses also benefit from the large number of visitors? The municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân asked RMC to conduct an annual study of visitor flows during the Sneekweek to support this effort.
Bureau RMC has been counting the number of passersby in the center of Sneek using the CityTraffic method for years. This data is used each year to investigate how the Sneekweek event was attended.
A comprehensive data report that allows the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân to analyze the Sneekweek and use this information to plan the program for the next edition.
