RMC was asked to conduct research into the performance of the ANWB store network. The goal was to find new insights and connections, which would help in making informed location choices. A data-driven approach was chosen, moving away from gut feelings. Various data sources were used to evaluate the entire network of ANWB stores against the same criteria.
A network scorecard was created, providing clear insights into the strength of the different locations. The network scorecard served as the basis for discussions about the store network. For example, why does one store rank in the top 10 in terms of visitor numbers but lag in revenue? And do stores with larger spaces generate higher revenues? The color-coded ranking proved to be an effective tool for engaging with the market managers about their stores' performance. The ANWB retail team now periodically reviews this data as the basis for their location decisions.
