A recent RMC study on footfall during late-night shopping in 14 Dutch cities reveals that the decline in activity has continued in 2024. Data collected via sensors from January through November shows that late-night shopping was, on average, 18.9% quieter compared to the same period last year.
While the overall trend is clear, there are exceptions. In cities like Haarlem and The Hague, Thursday evening foot traffic remained almost unchanged from the previous year. This contrasts with the other cities studied, where a significant decline was observed.
